14" x 40" Large Spindle Bore Gear Head Lathe (GH-1440ZX)
The JET GH-1440ZX is a 14" x 40" large spindle bore gear head lathe engineered for serious turning in fabrication, maintenance, energy, and industrial machining environments. Built with a rigid one-piece cast iron base, a powerful 5HP 3-phase motor, and a 2.55" spindle bore, this machine delivers the strength, control, and repeatability required for heavy cuts and consistent results.
Designed to reduce secondary operations and increase shop throughput, the GH-1440ZX allows larger stock to pass directly through the headstock, minimizing cutoffs and re-chucking. With 12 spindle speeds ranging from 36–1800 RPM, operators gain the flexibility needed for turning, facing, threading, boring, grooving, knurling, and parting operations across a wide range of materials.
Safety and uptime are built in — not added on. The GH-1440ZX is UL 987 Certified, includes a standard foot brake, chuck guard, lead screw cover, electronic chuck key holder, and is backed by JET’s industry-leading 2-year parts and labor warranty.
